Our very first project in 2003 was a residential home. In fact it was a bad experience with termites on Andrew and Lisa’s own home that sparked the move to light gauge steel in the first place.

Since those humble beginnings we have built a broad array of residential buildings, pushing the boundaries of light gauge steel to use in multi-storey residential apartment buildings.

One of our most unique residential projects was the Dulwich Hill apartment project which we designed as a prefabricated kit of parts – taking only 4 weeks to frame up a 6 storey apartment building over an existing flat building on an inner-city site with limited access.

Using a prefabricated kit of parts including floor, wall, and roof panels and prefabricated stairs and lift shaft, we took only 4 weeks to frame up a 6 storey apartment building over an existing flat building on an inner-city site with limited access.

A true example of the magic of DfMA

Austruss offered a DfMA approach to provide 183 townhouses, two and three storey, for Growthbuilt.

The advantages included time savings through parallel procurement, reduced co-ordination of packages on site and reduction of steel tonnage.
